Cognoscopy

You know what a colonoscopy is. A Cognoscopy is a comprehensive evaluation of your brain and cognition that should be done on anyone over 50 years of age. Alzheimer's and dementia can be prevented and treated, especially if identified early. In fact, Alzheimer's disease starts in the brain 20 years before symptoms of memory loss etc. are identified. The big problem we have today is the fear that exists around Alzheimer's disease: It is a devastating problem which is seen to have no viable treatment. This is not a true, but the earlier that problems are identified, the better the results. Dr. Schwartz is certified by Apollo health as a ReCODE 2.0 practitioner. ReCODE 2.0 has been shown to identify, slow and reverse mild cognitive impairment and early dementia. A Cognoscopy consists of the following components: A detailed neurological and neurocognitive exam, validated pen and paper tests such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a computerized test called CNS vital signs, comprehensive laboratory studies and advanced imaging studies. The Cognoscopy is individually tailored to each person and those that have no symptoms or concerns can be screened with the CNS Vital Signs and some labwork. If everything looks good, that's all they need. Regardless of the results; detailed recommendations for improvement of brain health, and treatment if needed, are given to each person.
